Q: What is an "Essential Oil?"

A: An Essential Oil is a concentrated, hydrophobic liquid containing volatile aroma compounds from plants. Essential Oils are also known as volatile or ethereal oils, as they are extracted from leaves, buds, bark, trees, flowers and other parts of plants. The oil is "essential" in the sense that it carries a distinctive scent, or essence, from the plant. Essential Oils in general do not need to have any specific chemical properties in common, beyond conveying characteristic fragrances. They are not to be confused with essential fatty acids.

Q: What uses do Essential Oils have?

A: They have had many uses in the past, and new applications are being discovered even today. Essential Oils can be used for anything ranging from aromatherapy, homemade arts and crafts (such as candles), and soaps. However, they are not just limited to applications because of their smell, they are also very useful as bug repellents, and flavors for certain foods or drinks. Some of them even have natural medicinal and/or therapeutic properties.

Q: Can I take your oils internally or eat/drink them?

A: The International Federation of Aromatherapists does not recommend taking Essential Oils internally unless under the direct supervision of a medical doctor who is qualified in clinical Aromatherapy. Please make sure that, when you take any oils internally, it is under the guidance of a medical professional.

Q: Are your oils really pure?

A: All of our oils are 100% pure, just like when you buy 100% pure orange juice at the supermarket. They contain nothing else than the essence of the plant they are extracted from and the oil itself, and are not diluted or watered down.

Q: How do I know I'm really getting good quality products?

A: Every single one of our oils have a money-back guarantee! If you are not satisfied with your product for any reason, simply notify us within four weeks of purchase and we will work with you to ensure that you receive a refund or an exchange. We keep this guarantee as a show of gratitude for our customers, and we will do our best to keep you satisfied!

Essential oils are very concentrated and potent.  Even small amounts can cause harm if used improperly.

Do not apply undiluted essential oils directly to your skin, as this can cause an overdose.

Make sure you store essential oils out of the reach of children and pets.

Do not get essential oils in your eyes, nose, or ears. Wash your hands thoroughly after using essential oils.

If working with pure essential oils, you may want to get disposable latex gloves (or latex-free alternatives).

Do not take essential oils internally, unless at the advice of your doctor or a qualified medical practitioner.

Before going out in the sun or to a tanning booth, avoid using essential oils that increase your sensitivity to the sun, such as citrus oils (e.g. bergamot oil, grapefruit oil).

Do a patch test if you have allergies or think you might be sensitive to an essential oil. Test aromatherapy products (such as lotions or creams) by applying a small dab to your arm. For pure essential oils, add one drop in 2.5 mL (or 1/2 teaspoon) of vegetable oil and apply it to your arm. If the area turns red, or if there is burning or itchiness, wash the area and do not use that product.

Overuse of essential oils can trigger a headache or dizziness. Do not exceed the recommended amounts. If you're working with essential oils (e.g. making your own lotions, candles, or bath salts) make sure you're working in a well-ventilated area and take breaks to go outside.

If you have a medical condition, consult a qualified medical practitioner before using essential oils.  Certain essential oils should not be used by people with certain conditions.  People with liver or kidney disease should only use essential oils under the guidance of a qualified medical practitioner. Once absorbed in the bloodstream, essential oils are eventually cleared from your body by the liver and kidneys--using essential oils excessively may injure these organs.

Consult a qualified medical practitioner if you are using any medication, because essential oils may interact negatively with certain medications. For example, relaxing essential oils such as chamomile, lavender, and melissa (lemon balm) may heighten the effect of sleeping pills or sedatives.

YOUR ESSENTIAL OILS COST LESS THAN OTHER BRANDS, HOW CAN YOU OFFER SUCH LOW PRICES?

At WFMED we work directly with suppliers and distillers around the world, so that we can offer the best prices to our online retail customers. We value every single customer, whether or not you are buying a 5 ml bottle oil or 5 gallon pack, your satisfaction is our highest priority.

CAN I TAKE YOUR OILS INTERNALLY?

Here at WFMED we do not recommend taking essential oils internally, as just because a product is natural does not mean it is safe to ingest. Our oils are sold for topical and aromatherapy use only. Please consult a doctor or aromatherapist before using essential oils.

HOW QUICKLY WILL YOU PROCESS AND SHIP MY ORDER?

Most orders are shipped the same business day (Monday through Friday) if payment is received and processed by 2:00 PM EST. Orders placed on the weekend will be processed on the following Monday, or the following Tuesday if Monday is a holiday.

ARE YOUR ESSENTIAL OILS WATERED DOWN OR DILUTED IN ANY WAY?

Our essential oils are 100% pure and natural, and are never diluted or watered down in any way. We do offer a variety of blends and dilutions, some of which are combined with carrier oils such as jojoba or grape seed, but these blends are manufactured specifically as blends and are clearly labeled as such to avoid any confusion.

DO ESSENTIAL OILS HAVE A GRADING SYSTEM TO TELL ME WHICH IS BETTER?

There is no official system that classifies essential oils as grade A, B, C or even Therapeutic grade. Should you see a company or retailer advertise their product as being a certain grade, please be aware that this grade only applies to their own products, and does not apply to any other company's products. All GreenHealth essential oils are accurately labeled, and are the highest purity and quality available.

ARE YOUR OILS SYNTHETIC?

With the exception of our fragrance oils, and nature-identical oils, which are clearly labeled as synthetic, all GreenHealth essential oils are 100% all pure and all natural.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

At WFMED, we stand by our products, and offer a money-back satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, let us know within 30 days, and we can exchange it for you, or issue a refund once it is returned.

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE FOR YOUR OILS?

The shelf life of our products can vary from species to species, and is also affected by storage conditions, but is generally 2-3 years from the date of distillation.

WHAT IF I HAVE ALLERGIES?

Our products are 100% natural, and are highly concentrated, so allergic reactions are possible in those with sensitivities to specific plants (ex. If you have a tree nut allergy, please refrain from using tree nut based oils). Please be aware that, since essential oils are highly concentrated, you may experience an allergic reaction to an oil even if you've never experienced an allergic reaction to the same plant as it occurs in nature. If you're not sure if an oil will cause an allergic reaction, please dilute the oil and do a patch test, leaving it on the skin 30 minutes. If a reaction occurs, please stop using the product immediately.

WHAT IS A HYDROSOL? IS IT A WATERED DOWN ESSENTIAL OIL?

A hydrosol, also known as a plant water or floral water, is the liquid byproduct of steam distilling an essential oil (essentially, condensation). A hydrosol is not a watered down essential oil. Hydrosols have many of the same therapeutic benefits as essential oils, but are less concentrated and therefore much gentler, and have a softer aroma than their essential oil counterparts.

Shipping Cut-off time: All orders are typically shipped the same business day (Monday-Friday) if payment is received by 2:00 p.m. EST.  We will only ship to addresses that are confirmed by the USPS address database.

Combined Shipping Discount: If you intend to purchase multiple items, please do not check out or submit payment until you have added all items you intend to purchase to your cart.  This will eliminate the possibility of items being sent separately, and will ensure that you are charged appropriately for the cost of one shipment.  To apply this combined shipping discount, simply add all the items you wish to purchase to your eBay shipping cart, and the shipping cost will be reduced automatically.

If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, you can return the product and get a full refund or exchange the product for another one, be it similar or not.

You can return a product for up to 30 days from the date you purchased it.

Any product you return must be in the same condition you received it and in the original packaging. Please keep the receipt.

At WFMED we work directly with suppliers and distillers around the world, so that we can offer the best prices to our online retail customers. We value every single customer, whether or not you are buying a 5 ml bottle oil or 5 gallon pack, your satisfaction is our highest priority.
